Handbrake drum and shoes (1992-95) (on the inserts - lubrication points with 3M ATD 8513 sealant (top) and SAE J310 NLGI N1 grease)

Removal and installation
1. Raise the rear of the vehicle and remove the wheel.
2. Remove the caliper, move it to the side and secure it.
3. Remove the brake disc, marking its position on the axle shaft.
4. Check the disc and pad.
5. Measure the thickness of the friction material, which should be at least 4.5 mm (new 6.5mm pad), replace the worn pad.
6. Check the inner diameter of the disc drum, which should not be more than 198 mm, otherwise replace the disc.
7. Disconnect the regulator spring at the bottom of the pads.
8. Turn the cup, remove the pressure spring and pin.
9. Remove the brake shoe adjuster.
10. Remove the spring retainers at the top of the brake.
11. Remove the spacer and spring.
12. Remove the bracket, disconnect the cable and remove the pads.
13. Installation is carried out in reverse order, taking into account the following.
14. Lubricate all required areas.
15. Position the brake shoe springs correctly – the spring of the right (rear) handbrake shoe has a distinctive color.
16. Install the left wheel brake shoe adjuster so that the adjuster pin faces the rear of the vehicle, and the right wheel brake shoe adjuster pin faces forward.
17. Tighten the caliper mounting bolts to a torque of 88 N·m. Adjust the handbrake (see subsection 11.15).
