Removal

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Drain the engine oil from the engine.

3. Remove the engine oil level indicator (dipstick).

4. After unscrewing the engine oil pan mounting bolts, use a screwdriver to separate the engine oil pan from the cylinder block.

Caution! Perform the operation carefully so as not to deform the engine oil pan flange.

5. Unscrew the drain plug and remove the sealing ring.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.

1. Clean the engine oil pan with kerosene or a suitable solvent and remove dirt from the outside and deposits from the inside of the engine oil pan. Clean the mating surfaces of the engine oil pan and the engine block from old gasket residues. Check that the surfaces are clean and dry.

2. Apply a 4mm bead of sealant 970389 to the engine oil pan flange.

3. Secure the oil pan with bolts, tightening them to a torque of 13 N·m.

4. Fill the engine with engine oil.

5. Install the engine oil level indicator.
