2. Remove the timing belt cover.
3. Turn the crankshaft clockwise and set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC in the compression stroke.
4. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position and use the MUT-II to measure the timing belt tension.
5. Loosen the timing belt tensioner lock nut.
6. Adjust the tension of the timing belt using the M6 bolt.

7. As shown in Fig. 5.3, hold the microphone (MB991668) at a distance of 10 to 20 mm from the back side of the belt perpendicularly (inclination no more than 15°).
8. Using your fingertip, lightly press on the center of the belt between the tensioner and the crankshaft pulley in the position shown by the arrow in Fig. 5.3, and use the instrument to determine the belt frequency, which should be (90±15) Hz.
Attention! When measuring, the belt surface temperature should be close to room temperature.
Caution: Be careful not to allow water or oil to enter the microphone.
Caution! If strong gusts of wind or noise near the microphone occur during the measurement process, the measurement error will be large.
Note: If the measurement is taken with the microphone touching the belt, the measurement value will differ from the actual one.
Caution! Do not take measurements while the engine is running.
