- Periodic oil and oil filter changes are the most important preventative maintenance procedure. As motor oil ages, it becomes thin and contaminated, leading to premature engine wear.
- Start the engine and warm it up to a temperature of 80 - 90°C.
- Remove the cap from the engine oil filler neck.
- Loosen the engine oil drain plug about half a turn. Place a container to catch the oil under the oil drain plug and remove the plug completely. If necessary, apply pressure to the plug as you remove it to prevent the oil from leaking prematurely. Allow all the oil to drain from the oil pan into the container.
Warning: Use caution as the drained oil is very hot.
- Screw the engine oil drain plug into the oil pan, and install a new sealing ring on the plug in the order shown in Figure 2.71.
- Fill the engine with the required amount of recommended motor oil (Fig. 2.72).

Recommended API classification: not lower than SG
Engine oil capacity, l:
- overall: 3.8
- oil filter: 0.3
Note: Do not overfill the engine oil as this will cause it to become saturated with air and reduce the pressure in the lubrication system.

- Install the cap on the oil filler neck.
- Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
- Turn off the engine, check the engine oil level and, if necessary, top it up to normal.
- Dispose of motor oil in accordance with applicable laws.
