Brake Hoses and Tubes — Checking and Replacing (Mitsubishi Colt 2)

1. Approximately every six months, brake hoses should be inspected for cracks, wear and other damage.

2. When replacing tubes and hoses, use only original spare parts.

3. When installing brake pipes, leave a minimum clearance of 19 mm between the pipe and any moving or vibrating parts.

10.4b To prevent the hose from rotating, hold its connection with a wrench


4. When disconnecting a tube or hose, first remove the spring clamp (10.4a): Then unscrew the connection nut (10.4b).

5. When disconnecting two hoses, unscrew the connection using two wrenches.

6. Before removing the brake pipes, remove all the fastening clamps. When installing the pipe, use all the clamps to fix it, as they prevent vibration of the pipe, which can cause damage to the pipes.
