Warning! The air conditioning system is under high pressure. The system must be discharged at a service station.

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Set the car to the parking brake.

3. Raise the front of the vehicle and place it on axle stands.

4. Unscrew the pan and remove the drive belt.

5. Disconnect the clutch connection connector from the compressor.

15.6 Compressor tubes and bolts (indicated by arrows) of the air conditioning system.

6. Disconnect the air conditioning system pipes from the compressor and immediately isolate the open areas to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the system (15.6).

7. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the compressor from the mounting bracket.

Attention! When performing this procedure, it is necessary to maintain the liquid level in the compressor. If the compressor is jammed, or metal particles are found in the pipeline, the system must be flushed by a specialist, and the air conditioner intake pipe must be replaced.

Installation

8. Rotate the center of the coupling six times to remove any remaining oil from the head.

9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

10. If you are installing a new compressor, read the Oil Quantity Calculation Section.

11. Check the air conditioning system pressure and tightness.
