Elements of the cylinder head of a diesel engine
I - stuffing box; 2 - camshaft; 3 - front cover of the camshaft bearing; 4 - spring of the axis of the rocker arms; 5 - nut; 6 - axis of rocker arms; 7 - rocker; 8 - rocker arm adjusting bolt; 9 - camshaft bearing cap; 10 - rocker axis support; 11 - cylinder head cover; 12 - semicircular gasket.
Assembly
Install spring washers.
Press new oil seals onto the guide bushings using the tool.
Lubricate the valve stem with engine oil and carefully install the first valve so as not to damage the cap.
Valve fittings
1 - saddle; 2 - oil deflector cap; 3 - top plate; 4 - spring.
Install the spring and plate. Compress the spring with a tool and install crackers in the grooves of the valve stem. After installing the crackers, remove the fixture and settle the crackers in place with light hammer blows on the end of the valve stem.
Installation
Wipe the contact surfaces of the cylinder head and cylinder block dry Place a new gasket on the cylinder block, aligning the holes in the gasket with the holes in the cylinder block.
Install the head on the cylinder block, insert the bolts into the corresponding holes in the cylinder head, tighten the bolts and tighten by hand. Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the reverse order to that shown in the figure in several steps. A special hex wrench is used to tighten the cylinder head bolts.
Install a new intake manifold gasket.
Install the exhaust manifold, replacing the gasket. Tighten the manifold mounting nuts with a torque of 15-20 Nm.
Install all removed parts in reverse order.
