Valve spring — check (Mitsubishi Colt 5)

1. Measure the length of the valve spring in a free state (Figure 3.47). If the obtained value is less than the maximum permissible value, the spring must be replaced.



2. Measure the springs for deviations from squareness. If the obtained value differs from the maximum permissible value, the spring must be replaced.

• Nominal value: 2°.
• Maximum permissible value: 4°.
