2. Drill a hole in the cylinder head for the valve stem guide bushing in accordance with its repair size.
Caution: Never install a guide bush of the same size again.
Valve stem guide bore diameter for 12V SOHC engines:
- repair size 0.05: 12.040-12.058 mm.
- repair size 0.25: 12.240-12.258 mm.
- repair size 0.50: 12.490-12.508 mm.
Valve stem guide bore diameter for SOHC 16V, DOHC engines:
- repair size 0.05: 10.550-10.568 mm.
- repair size 0.25: 10.750-10.768 mm.
- repair size 0.50: 11.000-11.018 mm.

3. Press in the valve stem guide bushing until its protrusion matches the required value (Figure 3.52).
Nominal value: SOHC 12V: 17 mm, SOHC 12V, DOHC: 23 mm.

Caution! The valve stem guide must be installed from the top of the cylinder head. The length of the intake and exhaust valve guides is different. After pressing in the valve stem guide, insert the valve and check that it moves without jamming.
