Valves — Checking (Mitsubishi Colt 5)

1. Check the valve plate for tightness of fit. Adjust it if necessary. The working surface of the valve seat should be in the middle of the valve plate and evenly distributed over the entire circumference.

2. If the valve plate height is less than the permissible value, replace it (Figure 3.46).



Normal value: inlet valve - 1.0 mm, outlet valve - 1.5 mm.

Maximum permissible value: inlet valve - 0.5 mm, outlet valve - 1.0 mm.

3. Measure the overall length of the valve. If the obtained value is less than required, the valve must be replaced.

The valve length values are given in Table 3.4.
