Cylinder head — check (Mitsubishi Colt 5)

1. Using a thin ruler and a feeler gauge, check the deformation of the cylinder head sealing surface (Figure 3.45). If the deformation exceeds the maximum permissible value, the surface is ground to the required size.



Deformation of the sealing surface:

• Nominal value: 0.05mm or less.
• Maximum permissible value: 0.2 mm.
• Final lapping: 0.2 mm.

Cylinder head height (new):

• SOHC 12V: 106.9-107.1 mm.
• SOHC 16V: 119.9-120.1 mm.
• DOHC: 131.9-132.1 mm.
