Removal
1. Raise the front of the vehicle and drain the oil.
2. Remove the tray.
3. Remove all belts, the upper belt cover and set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC of the compression stroke
4. Remove the sprockets and toothed belt (see subsection 3.4.29) and check the condition of the belt. If necessary, remove the small roller drive belt.
5. Remove the upper front cover and remove the oil seal (subject to replacement).
6. Mark the relative positions of the pump gears.
7. Remove all oil pump parts and check their condition. Replace worn parts.
Installation
Pressing in the front oil seal
1. Crankshaft; 2. Seal; 3. Bottom cover; 4. Oil pump drive; 5. Mandrel
1. Remove and check the rollers.
2. Lubricate and install the rollers, tighten the bolts to 5 Nm.
3. Lubricate and install the pump gears in place, aligning the marks.
4. Install the oil pump cover, tighten the bolts to 22 N·m.
5. Place the MD 998393 mandrel on the crankshaft.
6. Install a new gasket, install the front cover and tighten the bolts.
Remove the mandrel.
7. Install the bottom cover. Replace the seal.
8. Install all removed parts in reverse order. Install the sprockets, timing belts and adjust their tension (see subsection 3.4.29).
