Note: The outer brake pad on the left side of the vehicle has a wear indicator.
When the thickness of the pad decreases to 2 mm, the wear indicator comes into contact with the brake disc and makes a squealing sound while driving to warn the driver about the need for urgent replacement of the brake pads.
1. Check the thickness of the brake shoe lining through the inspection hole in the brake caliper housing.
Nominal value:
- Short wheelbase: 10 mm.
- Long wheelbase: 11.5 mm.
- Minimum acceptable value: 2.0 mm
Caution: If the brake pad lining thickness decreases below the maximum permissible value, replace all disc brake pads on both wheels. If there is a significant difference between the thickness of the right and left brake shoe linings, check the operation of the working brake cylinder piston and guide pins.

2. Remove the lower guide pin. Raise the caliper assembly and secure it with wire.

Caution: Do not wipe off the special grease from the surface of the guide pin or allow it to become dirty.

3. Remove the pad and wear indicator assembly (left side), and the shoe assembly (right side) (1).
4. Remove the pads as a whole (2).
5. Remove the shoe guide (3).
6. Remove the outer gasket.

7. To measure the rotating resistance force after installing new brake pads, measure the rotating resistance of the wheel hub bearing without brake pads.
8. Install the brake pads and caliper assembly, and then measure the rotating resistance force.
