Note: The operations for removing the oil pan and oil filter on a vehicle with a 6V31, 4M4 or 6G7 engine are similar. Below is a description of the procedure using the 6G7 engine as an example.
1. Remove the lower support plate and engine crankcase guard.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Remove the starter.

4. Remove the right drive shaft connection (1).
5. Remove the left drive shaft connection (2).
6. Remove the front cross member assembly (3).
7. Unscrew the oil pan drain plug (4).
8. Remove the oil pan drain plug gasket (5).
9. Remove the cover (6).
10. Remove the automatic transmission oil dipstick guide (7).
11. Remove the sealing ring (8).
12. Remove the engine oil dipstick guide (9).
13. Remove the sealing ring (10).
14. Remove the oil pan (11) using a special tool and a bronze drift.
Caution: Perform this operation slowly to avoid deformation of the oil pan flange.
15. Remove the oil pan mesh filter (12).
16. Remove the oil pan mesh filter gasket (13).
