2. Check the piston skirt for wear or damage.
3. Check the piston for rust, scratches or pitting.
4. Check and ensure that the clutch tubes are not clogged or damaged.
Note:
- Avoid contact of brake fluid with the paintwork of the vehicle body. In case of contact, rinse immediately with water.
- Clean all parts with brake fluid and then dry under a stream of compressed air. Clean the holes with compressed air.
- Before reassembling, ensure that all parts are free of dust and foreign particles.
- Replace parts with new ones whenever necessary.
- Make sure that the brake fluid does not contain any foreign impurities or contaminants.
- Do not mix brake fluids of different brands, as they may not be compatible.
- Do not reuse drained brake fluid. Always use only new DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid.
5. Measure the inner diameter of the master cylinder and the outer diameter of the piston using a micrometer.
Note: Measure the inside diameter of the master cylinder in three places (bottom, center and top) in a perpendicular direction.
6. If the master cylinder and piston clearance exceeds the specification, replace the master cylinder and/or piston assembly.
Maximum value: 0.15 mm.
