2. Release the adapter lock (Fig. 11.6).
3. Pull the speedometer cable slightly into the vehicle interior and remove the rear portion of the adapter from the cable.
4. Turn the adapter so that its slot aligns with the lock on the speedometer cable side and remove the adapter by moving it backwards.
5. Tie a cord to the end of the speedometer cable located inside the car. Then, after removing the seal from the engine compartment side of the car, pull the cable into the engine compartment.
6. Remove the cotter pin and disconnect the speedometer cable from the gearbox.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
