2. Disconnect the return hose from the tank (Fig. 16.8).

3. Connect the additional vinyl hose to the return hose and drain the liquid into a suitable container.
4. Disconnect the high-voltage wire from the ignition coil (1.3L engine) or the connector from the ignition coil (1.8L engine).

Warning: On a vehicle with a 1.3L engine, do not place the disconnected high-tension cable near the fuel rail.
5. Periodically engage the starter and at the same time turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to drain all the fluid from the hydraulic power steering drive.
6. Connect the return hose to the tank and secure it with a clamp.
7. Fill the reservoir with fluid up to the base of the oil filter. Bleed the hydraulic drive of the power steering.
