The following instructions are important for the correct functioning of the braking system.

New brake pads need to "break in" and therefore do not yet have optimum friction force for approximately the first 200 km. The slightly reduced braking effect can be compensated for by pressing the brake pedal harder.

On a slope, the engine's braking effect can be used by timely switching to a lower gear of the gearbox. This relieves the load on the braking system. If additional braking is required, it should not be done in a prolonged mode, but at intervals

Under certain operating conditions, for example, after driving through water, in heavy rain or washing the car, due to wet or, in winter, frozen brake discs and linings, the brakes may take effect with a delay.

When driving on salted roads, the full braking effect may also be delayed if the brakes have not been applied for a long time - the layer of salt on the brake discs and brake pads must first be ground off when braking.

Brake lining wear is highly dependent on operating conditions and driving style. Therefore, especially in vehicles that frequently travel around town or over short distances, or that are driven very correctly, it may be necessary to check the reliability of the brake linings between the intervals specified in the maintenance plan.

If the pedal travel suddenly increases, it means that the brake drive circuit of the dual-circuit brake system has failed.



A signal about a failure of the brake drive circuit is given by the illumination of the brake indicator lamp.

It is necessary to check the brake fluid level regularly - see below.

Hydraulic brake booster



The power steering works with the vacuum that is created when the engine is running.

Attention! Therefore, under no circumstances should you allow the car to roll with the engine turned off.


If the power steering does not work, you should press the brake pedal harder accordingly.

Checking the brake fluid level



The correct fluid level is essential for the perfect functioning of the brake system. The fluid level should always be between the "Max." and "Min." marks

A slight decrease in the fluid level occurs during vehicle operation as a result of wear and automatic adjustment of the brake linings. This is normal.

If the fluid level drops significantly in a short time or falls below the "Min" mark, the brake system may be leaky. You should contact the company's service immediately.

A signal of failure of the brake drive circuit is given by the illumination of the brake indicator lamp.

Brake fluid



Brake fluid draws moisture. Since excessively high water content in brake fluid can cause long-term damage to the entire brake system, brake fluid should be replaced every two years. Then bleed the brake system again.

Only branded brake fluid must be used. The fluid must be new and unused.

Warning! Brake fluid is poisonous! Therefore, it should be stored only in the original tank and in a place inaccessible especially to children.


In addition, brake fluid destroys the car's varnish and the plastic of the instrument panel. Therefore, when adding brake fluid, you should pay attention not to spill it. If necessary, cover the space around the brake hydraulic drive reservoir accordingly.
