It is very rare that two mufflers need to be replaced at the same time, but, as luck would have it, the next one breaks down after a few months. Therefore, the entire exhaust system is often replaced. We do not insist on doing this, since the individual parts of the vehicle's exhaust system are simply connected to each other. Removing a separate part of the pipe can be done without any particular difficulties.
Tap the faulty muffler with a hammer around the circumference, as well as on the ends. Do not hit too hard.
If a clear sound is heard with each blow, it means that the tin has already become thinner and will soon collapse, especially if it is winter and the road is sprinkled with salt.
Support the vehicle and secure it securely.
If the threaded connection does not give in during dismantling, do not rotate the bolt together with the nut in a circle, but try to tear off the bolt (in this case it will break off. The exception is the threaded connections on the exhaust manifold of the engine.
Before installation, the threads of the threaded connections of the exhaust tract must be lubricated with copper-containing grease.
When installing, the system must be positioned so that there is no tension.
When installing exhaust tract parts, all threaded connections are not tightened completely at first.
Hang the exhaust system with suspension supports to the bottom of the vehicle.
All suspension supports must be located at the same distance, otherwise the exhaust tract components must be repositioned.
Tighten all exhaust pipe threads starting from the front.
CAUTION: All exhaust system components must be sufficiently clear of the vehicle body.
