More air enters the cylinders by compressing oxygen-containing air, which improves fuel combustion.

The turbine speed reaches 140 thousand revolutions per minute, so it requires proper lubrication engine oil). Any dirt entering the oil will shorten the life of the assembly. Oil and filters must be changed periodically, and the filter is changed every time the engine oil is changed. Always fill with oil of the recommended viscosity.
Although turbocharging systems do not require special care, some general rules still need to be observed. Namely:
After starting the engine, check that the oil pressure is sufficient. Let the engine idle for a few minutes to allow the oil to circulate and warm up.
When starting the engine in cold weather, let the engine run for 1 or 2 minutes before starting to warm up the oil. Thickened oil should become liquid.
Before turning off the engine after a trip, let it idle for a short time. This will equalize the temperature inside the engine and allow the oil to cool. Sudden engine shutdown causes hot oil to trap inside a very hot turbocharger and cause the oil to cake and form solid particles that can clog oil passages and destroy bearings.
If a hot engine suddenly stops while running, restart it immediately. This will prevent a rapid rise in temperature inside the turbocharger and possible mechanical damage to the turbine and compressor.
After removing the engine from the car, cover the air passages of the turbocharger with rags to prevent dirt and dust from entering, which can then damage the bearings. This will also prevent the turbine from rotating in the bearings while oil is being supplied to them.
WARNING: Turbocharger noise may be heard after the engine is stopped. This air noise should not be confused with the noise of a failed bearing, which has a higher mechanical sound.
