Turning off the transmission
Release the gas and, at low speed or when the vehicle is braking slightly, push the gear shift lever toward neutral.
Moving off
Turn off the engine, engage first gear and engage the starter. The car will jerk and start moving. A cold engine should warm up first. On a level road, you can start moving in second gear.
Shifting into higher gears
Start driving in first gear using the starter. In first gear, accelerate the engine slightly above idle speed. Release the gas pedal slightly, pull the gearshift lever to neutral. Release the gas pedal and lightly press the gearshift lever in the direction of second gear. If the engine and gearbox speeds match, the gear will engage quite easily. If the procedure is delayed, you need to give a little gas so that the gear engages without the gears "crunching". If this does not work, try again. The other higher gears are shifted in a similar manner. This is easiest at low speeds: second gear - at 20 km / h; third - at 25 km/h; fourth - at 35 km/h.
Downshifting
In this case, it is necessary to increase the engine speed so that the desired gear can be engaged. Take your foot off the gas, turn off the gear, smoothly press the gas and press the gearshift lever in the direction of the desired gear. At the required number of revolutions, the gear will engage almost without effort. Shifting to lower gears occurs best at low speeds and engine speeds.
