Checking the vacuum in the intake manifold (Mitsubishi Carisma)

1. Start the engine and warm it up to a coolant temperature of 80–95°C.

2. Connect the tachometer.

3. Connect a tee to the vacuum hose between the fuel pressure regulator and the intake manifold, then connect a vacuum gauge.

4. Start the engine and check that the idle speed is within the nominal range. Record the instrument reading, which should be at least 60 kPa.
