Rear suspension arms — removal and installation (Mitsubishi Colt 4)

Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it on stands.

Remove the appropriate wheel and wheel hub.

Lower wishbone:
  • Loosen and remove the bolt connecting the lower transverse lever to the longitudinal arm.
  • Remove the lower control arm.

Upper wishbone:
  • Having installed a jack under the lower suspension arm, unscrew the nut and remove the bolt securing the upper transverse and longitudinal suspension arms.



Remove the two bolts and remove the upper control arm.

Lower suspension arm:
  • Loosen the bolt connecting the upper transverse and longitudinal arms.
  • Loosen the nut and disconnect the anti-roll bar.
  • After placing the jack under the lower suspension arm, unscrew the nuts and bolts.


  • After unscrewing the bolt, disconnect the lower arm from the longitudinal arm.
  • After unscrewing the bolt, disconnect the lower arm from the rear shock absorber strut.
  • Align the timing marks on the rear wheel alignment bolt and remove the upper and lower control arms.

Check the bushings for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.



Installation



The installation of the rear suspension arms is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account that the tightening of the suspension arm fastening elements must be done after the car is standing on its wheels.
