Set the gear shift lever to neutral position "N".
Press the clutch pedal all the way down.
Turn the ignition key to the ON position. The glow plug starting aid indicator light will first turn on yellow and then turn off after a while, indicating that the glow plugs have finished heating up.
Turn the ignition key to the "START" position without pressing the accelerator pedal and release the key when the engine starts.
CAUTION: When the engine is cold, the starting aid (glow plug) indicator light stays on for a longer period of time.
If the engine does not start within about 5 seconds after the diesel starting aid (glow plug) indicator lamp goes out, return the ignition switch to the "LOCK" position. Then turn the key to the "ON" position to reheat the glow plugs.
When the engine is warm, the glow plug starting aid indicator lamp does not come on, even if the ignition key is in the ON position. Start the engine by turning the ignition key to the right to the START position.
