The engine may fail to start for many reasons, and you will save time and effort by following the logical sequence of checks listed here. The systematic, step by step, implementation of each test and the transition to the next increases the chances of finding a malfunction.
Remember that most malfunctions are caused by lack or lack of fuel in the injectors or a weak battery charge that does not allow the diesel engine starter to develop sufficient speed. Therefore, first of all, check the presence of fuel in the tank, the condition of the tank safety valves (are they open?), battery status and, if a battery switch is installed, is it in the «ON» («ON»).
Troubleshooting Table
Diesel engines do not have problems associated with the electrical ignition system. However, there are still many reasons why a diesel engine won't start. Simply put, a diesel needs fuel, air, enough compression in the cylinders and a high enough cranking speed in order for it to start. Many factors, either singly or in various combinations, can prevent the fulfillment of one or all of these basic requirements.
