1. Disconnect the vacuum tube (with a green stripe) from the EGR solenoid valve and connect it to a hand vacuum pump (Figure 6.13).

2. Check the vacuum on a cold and warm engine, creating a high load with a fast opening of the throttle valve.

Engine cold (coolant temperature: 20°C or below):



Throttle valveNormal condition
Quick openNo vacuum is created (equal to atmospheric air pressure)

Engine warm (coolant temperature 80°C or higher):



Throttle valveNormal condition
Quick openShort-term increase greater than 13 kPa

3. Disconnect the adapter.

4. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the EGR valve (Figure 6.14).
