21. Overheating
1. Insufficient amount of coolant in the system (see Chapter 1).
2. The water pump drive belt is damaged or incorrectly adjusted (see Chapter 1).
3. Blockage of the radiator or restriction of air supply to the radiator grille or its contamination (see Chapter 3).
4. Thermostat failure (see Chapter 3).
5. Breakage of the blades of the electric cooling fan (see Chapter 3).
6. The radiator cap does not maintain the correct pressure. Have the cap set pressure checked by a workshop.

23. External coolant leaks
1. Hoses are old or damaged or clamps are loose. Replace hoses and/or tighten clamps (see Chapter 1).

3. Coolant leak from radiator or reservoir. Professional radiator repair is required (the procedure for removing the radiator is described in Chapter 3).
4. Leaky engine drain plugs (see Chapter 1) or water jacket channel (see Chapter 2).
24. Internal coolant leaks
Note: Internal coolant leaks can be detected by checking the oil level. Make sure there is no water on the dipstick or inside the cylinder head cover, and check the consistency of the oil.
1. Cylinder head gasket failure. Check the pressure in the cooling system.
2. Crack in cylinder liner or cylinder head. Disassemble the engine and check (see Chapter 2).

1. Too much coolant in the system (see Chapter 1).
2. Splashing out boiling coolant due to overheating.
3. Internal or external leakage.
4. Radiator cap malfunction. Check the cap opening pressure.
26. Poor coolant circulation
1. Water pump failure. A quick check can be made by squeezing the radiator hose with your hand while the engine is idling, and then releasing it. If the pump is operating normally, you should feel a pulse of coolant (see Chapter 1).
