2. Before starting work, buy the required grade of working fluid (see section "Recommended lubricants and working fluids" at the beginning of this chapter).
3. Other tools needed for this job include stands to raise the vehicle, a drain pan with a capacity of at least 10 liters, newspapers and clean rags.
4. The fluid should be drained immediately after driving. Hot fluid removes accumulated sediment more effectively.
Caution: The temperature of the working fluid in a hot transmission can exceed 150°C. Wear protective gloves.
5. After warming up the working fluid, while driving the car, raise it on stands to provide access to the transmission drain plug.
6. Move the necessary tools under the vehicle, being careful not to touch any hot exhaust system components.
7. Place a drain pan under the transmission drain plug and remove the plug. Check the position of the pan as the fluid will come out of the transmission with some force. Once all the fluid has drained, replace and tighten the drain plug.

8. Unscrew the transmission pan mounting bolts and carefully separate the pan using a screwdriver.
9. Unscrew the filter mounting bolts, disconnect the filter from the transmission. Be careful when removing the filter, as it still contains working fluid.

10. Install the new filter and secure it with bolts. Tighten the bolts to the required torque specified in the specification.
11. Carefully clean the mating surface of the transmission pan, removing all traces of the old gasket. Rinse the pan in clean solvent and dry it with compressed air. Clean and reinstall the magnets.
12. Install the new gasket. Reinstall the transmission pan and install the mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
13. Lower the vehicle.
14. With the engine off, pour new fluid into the transmission through the dipstick tube (the type of working fluid is specified in the section "Recommended lubricants and working fluids"). For convenience, use a funnel. It is best to add fluid little by little, constantly checking its level with the dipstick (section 7). Wait a while for the liquid to drain into the tray.
15. Start the engine and move the gear selector through all positions from Park to Low, then set it to Park and apply the parking brake.
16. With the engine idling, check the working fluid level. Add fluid to the HOT level on the dipstick.
