6.1 Hydraulic valve adjusters are located at the rear of the rocker arms
1. Remove the rocker shafts together with the rocker arms and remove the adjusters from the rocker arms (6.1). Remember the correct position of the controls.
2. Lower the regulators one by one into a container filled with diesel oil. With a stiff wire inserted into the hole in the top of the regulator, lower the steel ball and move the plunger up and down several times. Remove the wire and squeeze the regulator with your fingers. If the plunger moves even a small distance, this means that there is still air in the regulator.
If the plunger still moves, repeat the previous procedure. If this does not help, replace the regulator.
3. Insert the adjusters into the rocker arms, install the valve cover in place.
4. If you have not completely bled the air from the regulators, they will make noise when you start the engine. If this happens, the air can be bled by slowly increasing the speed to 3000 rpm for one minute. If noise persists, replace bad regulators.
