2. Remove the air filter.
3.3 Carefully disconnect the spark plug wires from the clamps
3. Disconnect the spark plug wires and cable brackets from the valve cover (3.3).
Caution: On DOHC engines, remove the center cover to gain access to the spark plugs.
4. Tag and disconnect any exhaust cables or hoses that are connected to or run above the valve cover.

3.5c DOHC Engine Valve Cover, Rocker Arms and Camshaft
1. Timing belt; 2. Camshaft sprocket (intake valves); 3. Camshaft sprocket (exhaust valves); 4. Camshaft oil seal; 5. Camshaft bearing caps; 6. Camshaft bearing cap; 7. Camshaft (intake valves); 8. Camshaft (exhaust valves); 9. Camshaft bearing cap; 10. Camshaft bearing cap; 11. Semicircular seal; 12. Ventilation hose
5. Unscrew the valve cover bolts (3.5a, 3.5b, 3.5c) and remove the cover. If the cover is firmly stuck to the cylinder head, carefully tap it with a wooden hammer.
6. Clean the lid thoroughly, removing any traces of the old gasket.
7. Install a new gasket on the cover. Place the cover on the cylinder head and insert the bolts.
Attention! Do not forget to install the semicircular seal in the cylinder head (3.5a, 3.5b). Apply a small amount of sealant to the back of the seal, install the seal and apply sealant to its top.
8. Tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the specifications. After you have completed the installation, start the engine and inspect it for leaks.
