(1) When the brake pedal is fully depressed and the ignition key is in the ACC position, the selector lever cannot be moved from the P position to any other position unless the button on the selector lever is pressed.
(2) When the brake pedal is fully depressed and the ignition key is in the ACC position, the selector lever cannot be moved from the P position to any other position if the button on the selector lever is pressed.
(3) When the brake pedal is released and the ignition key is in the ACC position, the selector lever can be moved from the R position to the P position if the button on the selector lever is pressed.
2. If problems occur during the check, adjust the selector lever lock cable as follows:
(1) Remove the floor console and pre-install the selector lever handle.
(2) Move the selector lever to position P.
(3) Turn the ignition key to the LOCK (OFF) position.
(4) Loosen the selector lever lock cable lock nut.
(5) Tighten the lock nut until the end of the selector lever lock cable protrudes above the red mark on the cam (Fig. 13.34).

Tightening torque: 12 Nm
(6) Install the floor console.
3. After adjustment, check the operation of the selector lever lock mechanism again; if it still does not work properly, replace the selector lever lock cable.
