2. If the stroke length of the lever is not as required, adjust it as follows:
- loosen the adjusting nut at the end of the drive cable rod, thereby loosening the parking brake system drive cable (Figure 14.30);
- with the engine running, press the brake pedal hard 5-6 times and check the pedal travel;

Caution: If the brake pedal stroke length is constant, the automatic adjustment is functioning and the distance between the brake shoe and drum is adjusted correctly.
- by turning the adjusting nut, adjust the stroke length of the parking brake system drive lever to the required value;
- when adjusting, make sure that there is no gap between the nut and the pin and that the nut is fixed in the adjusted position.
Caution! If the number of clicks is below the permissible value, the cable is too tight. Adjust accordingly.
- after adjusting the stroke of the parking brake lever, lift the vehicle;
- release the parking brake lever and spin the rear wheels to make sure the rear brakes are not applied.
