Since diesel engines do not have an ignition system, a special photoelectric speed meter is needed. It is expensive and its purchase is not always justified.
Warm up the engine to operating temperature (coolant temperature not less than 80°C).
Turn off electrical consumers.
On vehicles with power steering, the steering wheel must be in the straight ahead position.
Check and adjust fuel injection start and valve clearance.
Set the car's handbrake and leave the engine idling.
Check the idle speed. The required value is 750±30 rpm.
If the idle speed is not set correctly, loosen the lock nut and set the desired idle speed by turning the adjusting screw. After adjustment, tighten the lock nut again.
