1. If the brake pedal is pressed all the way down and the ignition key is in the "ACC" position, the automatic transmission selector lever cannot be moved from the "P" position to any other position unless the button on the automatic transmission selector lever is pressed.
2. If the brake pedal is pressed all the way and the ignition key is in the "ACC" position, the automatic transmission selector lever cannot be moved from the "P" position to any other position if the button on the automatic transmission selector lever is pressed.
3. If the brake pedal is released and the ignition key is in the "ACC" position, the automatic transmission selector lever can be easily moved from the "R" position to the "P" position if the button on the automatic transmission selector lever is pressed.
If problems occur during the above check, adjust the shift lock cable as follows.
1. Remove the front floor console and pre-install the automatic transmission selector lever handle.
2. Move the automatic transmission selector lever to position "P".
3. Turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" ("OFF") position.
4. Loosen the lock nut of the transmission mode lock cable.

5. Tighten the lock nut so that the end of the gearshift lock cable protrudes above the red mark on the cam (Fig. 12.6). The tightening torque of the lock nut is 12 N·m.
6. Install the floor console.
After adjustment, check the operation of the gearbox mode lock mechanism again. If it still does not work correctly, replace the gearbox mode lock cable.
