The purpose of this test is to determine the maximum engine crankshaft speed with the gearbox output shaft completely stopped in the "D" and "R" ranges. This frequency can be used to determine the performance of the torque converter, freewheel clutches, and the presence of slip in some friction elements of the gearbox control.

Warning! No one is allowed in front or behind the vehicle during this check.

1. Check the level and temperature of the working fluid in the gearbox, as well as the temperature of the engine coolant:
  • working fluid level – mark "NOT" on the dipstick;
  • working fluid temperature – 80–100°C;
  • engine coolant temperature – 80–100°C.

2. Place parking blocks under the rear wheels.

3. Apply the parking brake fully and press the brake pedal all the way down.

4. Start the engine.

5. Set the gear selector lever to position "D", press the accelerator pedal all the way down and determine the engine speed at this moment.

Caution! The accelerator pedal can be held for no more than 8 seconds.

Caution: If this check is performed more than once in a row, after each check, move the selector lever to the "N" position and run the engine at 1000 rpm⁻¹ until the gearbox oil temperature reaches the operating value, after which the next check can be performed.

Attention! The rated engine speed during the Stall Test in the "D" range is 2100–2600 min⁻¹

Repeat the same check for the "R" position of the selector lever.

Attention! The rated engine speed during the Stall Test in the "R" range is 2100–2600 min⁻¹
