Adjusting elements of a gear belt
1 - timing belt drive camshafts; 2 - disk; 3 - bottom cover. toothed belt; 4 - bracket for mounting the power steering pump; 3 - engine support bracket; 6 - adjusting mechanism of the generator; 7 - bracket for fastening the power steering hose; 8 - top cover of the toothed belt; 9 - tension roller of a toothed belt; 10 - tension device.
Removing
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Remove the bottom protective cover.
Remove the engine support bracket and crankshaft pulley.
Loosen the bolt and remove the power steering hose bracket.
Remove the power steering hose clamp.
Having unscrewed the bolts, remove the alternator adjusting plate.
Remove the upper and lower camshaft belt covers.
Remove the roller disc.
Loosen the bolts and remove the power steering pump mounting bracket.
Remove the engine mount bracket.
Turn the crankshaft and align the alignment marks (1), as it shown on the picture.
After loosening the tensioner roller center bolt, remove the camshaft drive belt.
ATTENTION: In case of reusing the camshaft timing belt, it is necessary to mark the arrow on the back of the belt indicating the direction of rotation.
The location of the toothed belt drive camshafts on gear wheels / rollers
1 - crankshaft gear; 2 - tensioner roller; 3 - gear wheels of camshafts; 4 - bypass roller; 5 - gear wheel of the coolant pump.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account the following:
Apply a force of 100 N to 200 N to the auto tensioner rod and measure the stroke of the rod, which should be no more than 1 mm.
If the amount of travel is not correct, replace the auto tensioner.
Place the auto-tensioner in a vise as shown in the figure, and carefully, so as not to damage the pusher rod, compress the auto-tensioner until hole A aligns with hole B.
Insert dowel pin (1) into aligned holes.
Install the automatic tensioner on the engine.
Align match marks (1) on the gears of the camshafts (A) and crankshaft (IN) with the corresponding pointers.
Loosen the center tensioner pulley bolt.
Turn the crankshaft pulley half a tooth counterclockwise.
Lay the drive belt over the exhaust camshaft sprocket and secure the drive belt to the gear with a clamp (1), as it shown on the picture.
Lay the drive belt on the gear wheel of the intake camshaft.
Align match marks (1), as it shown on the picture.
Attach the drive belt to the other gear with another clip as shown.
Insert the toothed belt sequentially onto the guide roller, coolant pump drive wheel, crankshaft wheel, tensioner roller and remove the clips.
After moving the tensioner roller in the direction of the arrow, tighten the mounting bolt.
Make sure all alignment marks stay aligned.
Adjust the tension of the camshaft drive belt, for which turn the crankshaft 1/4 turn counterclockwise, and then return it to its original position, and make sure that all the alignment marks are aligned.
Loosen the bolt (1) roller (4) tensioner and, using a special tool (3), inserted into the hole (2) and a torque wrench, tension the timing belt, then tighten the bolt to a torque of 2.5-4.0 Nm.
Remove dowel pin (1) from the automatic tensioner.
Rotate the crankshaft clockwise 2 turns then wait 5 minutes, then check that the dowel pin can just as easily be inserted into the auto-tensioner hole and removed again.
Stem protrusion (A) from the tensioner should be within 3.8-4.5 mm.
If the amount of protrusion (A) corresponds to the required value. Repeat the belt tensioning operations. Make sure that all alignment marks are aligned.
Install roller discs.
Install the lower guard, engine mount bracket and crankshaft pulley.
